Job Description:
Under general supervision manages, monitors, tests, analyzes, and troubleshoots statewide State of Georgia Local Area and Wide Area Networks to accomplish proactive trouble avoidance and maintains integrity of State of Georgia network on an ongoing basis. Duties includes the creation and tracking of troubles calls escalated from other areas on Routers, Switches, bridges, multi-media communications equipment and the data and WAN communications networks. Working experience is within a NOC environment and network troubles are troubleshot to the component level. Responsible for monitoring, detecting, and mitigation of network intrusions Statewide, to include the State's Firewalls and Internet/Intranet Access using required facilities and tools. Conducts research into network intrusion, denial of service, virus attacks, and other security breaches. Required Skills: Must have experience with VOIP, Video/IP, VPN's, Frame Relay and MPLS protocols, along with experience with maintaining and troubleshooting LAN and WAN communications networks. Prefer experience with Checkpoint Firewall or other major Firewalls. Applicant must be CCNA certified with certification number on Resume and current (not expired). Candidates must bring proof of CCNA certification to any requested interview. There are three positions which are shift work for Friday through Sunday 6pm-7:50am, Friday through Sunday 6am-7:50pm and Monday through Thursday 8pm-6:30am. All recruits are required to train in the NOSC (Network Operations and Security Center) for approximately 4 to 6 weeks during the hours of Monday through Friday 8am-5pm prior to being assigned to their hired shift.
