Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Operations-Production is responsible for the management of the treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage tanks and regulatory compliance for the Company including planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling those activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Manager in charge of all water treatment, pumping, interconnections and storage facilities of the Company including water quality, operation and maintenance of said facilities, employee training and development, and compliance with applicable federal, state and municipal regulations. Responsible to the State of New Jersey as the Licensed Operator of the system under the jurisdiction of the Company. Responsible for specifying equipment and materials pertaining to the treatment of water in accordance with company procedures and for proper inventory maintenance. Responsible for the operation, proper maintenance and upkeep of the Company's two water treatment plants, four storage tanks, one pumping station, six interconnections and other associated equipment in accordance with company procedures. Direct responsibility for water quality monitoring, reporting, adherence and recordkeeping. Provides input to the preparation of the Company's Operating and Capital Budgets; and implements and adheres to the approved budgets. Reviews and provides input to the design of new Company facilities or changes to existing facilities. Maintains open and effective lines of communication with state and federal agencies. Has working knowledge of SCADA software and equipment. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum Associates Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences, or ten years of direct responsible charge in the operations and maintenance of a utility, at least five of which must have been directly dealing with the maintenance and operation of water treatment facilities. Possess New Jersey State T-4 and N-1 licenses or the ability to obtain same within 3 years. BS in Engineering or associated sciences may be substituted for the experience requirements.
