Job Description:
SummarySchedules and prioritizes system usage. Coordinates file transfers, automation, performance monitoring, systems availability, and changes involving the mainframe and peripherals. Manages various automation products, while using programming skills to adjust this software to conform to standards. Primarily concerned with the appropriate use of computer resources and ensures that client service expectations are met. Tunes JCL procedures to improve run-time optimization. Develops analytical reports of computer utilization derived from system statistical logs. Performs problem determination and analysis and executes corrective activity. Accepts, reviews, and implements production JCL procedures to ensure readability, restart ability and appropriate use of resources.ResponsibilitiesUnder little or no daily supervision, performs varied and somewhat difficult assignments related to scheduling and coordinating production files. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to assignments that are complex in nature. Identifies and researches problems to determine better utilization of mainframe resources and the impact on daily production cycle. Recommends process improvements to ensure systems usage and availability. Knows the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures required for the field of specialization. Ensures procedures are followed and standards are met while tracking all jobs and maintaining the appropriate documentation. Depending on the location, is responsible for the production of Management Information (MI).Education/ExperienceFour year college degree and 4 or more years professional experience or 6 or more years professional experience is required. Distributed platform experience, SQL, .NET, Database, Web Design preferred. Appropriate TSYS experience is preferred.Skills and Competencies Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient in PC business applications:- Microsoft Word- Microsoft Excel- Lotus Notes- PowerPoint Takes initiative Develops strong knowledge of TSYS organization Excellent customer service skills Ability to understand internal/external customer expectations Ability to think analytically Strong research skills Proficient problem resolution skills Strong industry knowledge Strong working knowledge of assigned system or subsystem including programming skills (REXX, SQL, JAL, SAS, etc.) Manages multiple projects Proficient in selling/negotiating skills General knowledge of applicable mainframe applications - JES - AO - MVS - ThruPut Manager- NDM - QuickTape/QuickCom - Mailbox - Omegaview - TSO - FTP/Data Integrator/SNDM - CA 1, 7, & 11 Skills: See Above Language requirements:
