Job Description: The Associate Director of Member and Donor Development provides vision, leadership, management and oversight to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancys member acquisition and retention programs, raises additional operating and program gifts (up to $1,000), and provides excellent customer service to supporters and the public. The Associate Director is responsible for database management, including data entry, generating reports and lists, budgeting, program analysis, and procedures. The Associate Director collaborate with other senior Development staff to identify major donor prospects and ensure proper cultivation and solicitation strategies are in place and implemented. The Associate Director works closely with all areas of Development to support a comprehensive fundraising program and reports to the Director of Development. S/he manages the Membership Manager and part-time Data Entry staff.
Job Requirements: Five or more years of development and/or membership experience in a non-profit organization Proven experience working toward revenue objectives and achieving fundraising goals Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising. Demonstrated ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate, report and advance strategic fundraising plans Demonstrated proficiency and experience in customer service with high standards of timeliness and responsiveness Ability to effectively persuade and motivate others Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self-motivation are necessary for success Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to manage details of multiple and complex projects within deadlines Excellent written and oral communication skills sufficient to express ideas concisely and persuasively to a variety of constituencies. Ability to work independently, as well as, to serve as a key member of a team. Familiarity with AFP professional fundraising standards Working knowledge of Raisers Edge fundraising software Current California drivers license Must be available to work on evenings and weekends
