Job Description:
Job Purpose:
The Design/Application Engineer will provide engineering support to test products, to assist in the seal selection process, to design new products, to troubleshoot product issues on-site, to support business sales through on-site visits, and to solve shop manufacturing and assembly issues through good engineering practices. Core competency should include education/background in electrical and electronic systems sufficient to aid the design of products and tests.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities (other duties as assigned):
• Set up testing plans and provide designs for test fixtures to test prototype and existing products.
• Assist Design Draftspersons in the seal selection process.
• Design new products using CAD systems.
• Troubleshoot, on-site, customer/product issues and solve those issues in a timely fashion.
• Support new growth and existing business sales by on-site visits with Sales Engineer.
• Working with other managers, supervisors and technicians provide solutions for manufacturing and assembly issues though good engineering practices.


Job Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems as they apply to heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of seals, bearings and sealing systems sufficient to design related seal or bearing glands and recommend specific seals for critical applications.
• Minimum 5 years experience supervising testing of hydraulic and pneumatic components using Data Acquisition systems for recording test results.
• Ability to program PLC for product testing; understand ladder logic.
• Fluent in the use of SolidWorks®/Cosmos FEA, AutoCAD® and Microsoft Office® software (includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.).
• Work independently to achieve desired results.
• Travel, as required, to satisfy the demands of the business as it relates to issues that can be addressed by the Engineering Manager.
