Job Description:
The Opportunity: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Environmental Health and Safety Manager position. Environmental Health and Safety Manager Responsibilities: Develop, implement and continuously refine SEL safety and environmental health programs to comply with local, state and federal regulations. Develop and benchmark a Safety Standards Program. Direct active hazard control and accident prevention programs. Prepare and review reports to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. Formulate general safety and environmental policies and procedures to comply with local, state and federal (e.g. WISHA, EPA) rules and regulations. Develop, supervise and coordinate training programs, which encourage a safe and healthy work environment, and counsel all levels of management and employee owners on safety management programs and practices. Identify, measure and improve environmental health and safety processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial safety, science, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience Proven knowledge and experience in testing/analyzing air quality issues, conducting safety audits, and analyzing ergonomic and environmental concerns 10 years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment Skilled in working with Safety Committee volunteer members and management Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills Excellent PC literacy skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an electronics or related manufacturing business An Award Winning Company Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
