Job Description:
General position objectives
Collections Supervisor oversees the collections activities utilizing established policies and procedures. The supervisor directs the department to perform daily operations in such a manner as to achieve management goals on a timely basis.

Specific duties and responsibilities

Schedules and organizes work assignment. Prioritizes and delegates job tasks to ensure timely completion. Ensures work is performed accurately and efficiently. Typically coordinates work assignments for more than 10 staff members.
Conducts performance evaluations and employee discipline. Hires, terminates and submits promotion or annual rate increases to Accounts Receivable Manager for approval. Follows Human Resources policy and procedures.
Supervises, trains, and motivates employees who report directly to him/her.
Implements policies and procedures to maintain workflow standards.
Maintains manuals of policies and procedures, contract guidelines, reimbursement updates and collection tips and other reference material.
Works with billing coordinator or supervisor on resolution of accounts.
Oversees collection activities per policy and procedures.
Participates in projects as requested.
Participates in management meetings.
Keeps Accounts Receivable Manager advised of concerns or compliance issues. Addresses problems as they occur. Reports delinquent customers and payors to Accounts Receivable Manager’s attention for resolution.
Prepares required reports or action plans based on results for Accounts Receivable Manager.

Requirements

Education : High School diploma or equivalent. College graduate preferred.
Certificate/License : None
Experience :At least one (1) year of supervisory or lead collection experience. At least three (3) years of collections; Healthcare environment and workers’ compensation experience preferred.
