Job Description:
The Atlantic Resort & Spa is seeking a Director of Finance that will:Manage, direct and oversee the Hotel Finance Department operations to maintain the necessary internal controls at the maximum level of profit; establish and implement the Finance Department policies and goals to ensure complete financial integrity in compliance with corporate accounting policies; supervise and control the work of other professional and managerial employees including the Assistant Controller, Accountants, and Payroll/Accountants, with authority to take and/or recommend personnel actions such as hiring, firing and training with respect to these as well as other Finance Department employees; manage and control the essential Hotel Financial Accounting functions; as Hotel Director of Finance, function at the most senior level within Hotel Financial operations with other Hotel Departments and Managers to ensure efficient and accurate financial controls; manage and oversee all balance sheet accounts and the auditing of bank and credit card reconciliation; supervise and control the preparation of monthly account reconciliations, monthly Hotel invoices and financial statements for Department Heads and Executives; review and analyze Hotel organization structure and make recommendations in order to increase efficiency and reduce payroll; oversee financial investments and foreign exchange transactions; manage and direct the accounts payable, external audits, cash management functions; direct and oversee the approval of payment requests and employee advance payment requests; manage and control the preparation of Hotel budgeting, financial forecast reports and monthly reporting to the corporate office; supervise and oversee the auditing of all leases, contracts, licenses, permits and other documents that present a financial commitment of the Hotel and ascertain the continued compliance of these commitments; enforce the policies, procedures and standards of excellence of The Atlantic; and, exercise direction and discretionary authority over day-to-day Hotel Finance and Accounting Department operations. Job Requirements: Master's Degree in Hospitality Management and two years of experience as a senior-level manager of Hotel Financial Management operations; two years experience managing financial analysis of and budgeting for Hotel operations for luxury hotel property; two years of experience supervising the work of other Hospitality Accounting professions; two years experience overseeing hospitality accounting operations; two years of experience planning and implementing accounting policies, procedures and systems of control for luxury hotel; and thorough understanding of Hotel accounting policies, reporting requirements and financial statements.
