Embedded Software Engineer - Greater New Haven, CT
Our client, the world leader in the capital equipment market for wire and tube bending machinery seeks an Embedded Software Engineer. This is a position with a prestigious name in the industry – “the Mercedes Benz” of their market. They plan to double their business in the next five years and have an aggressive strategy for growth and are looking to expand their engineering talent.
Their clients are companies involved in wire and tube bending, which range from businesses in the automotive industry to manufacturers of consumer products such as eyeglass frames. Your role will be to design and develop embedded software for machine control and to support internal company systems. You will develop databases and develop test scripts and work with hardware developers and customers. Essentially, you will write programs for microchips that will be placed into the control panels of capital equipment that is used to bend wires and tubes.

Job Requirements:
• BS degree Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and come from a background in machine or equipment development.
• You will have hands on experience of designing embedded software components on a variety of embedded 8/16/32 bit platforms.
• Must have knowledge of the “C” and assembler language programming and lesser experience in Visual Studio languages and IDE, primarily VB and ASP. Some knowledge of MS-SQL is desirable
• 2+ years experience in microprocessor-based hardware and embedded software design. Experience with Intel x86, 8051, Microchip PIC, and FPGA devices a plus.
• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems and principals
• Ability to use basic test equipment such as scope, meter etc. a plus
