We have an opportunity available for an Engineering Mgr, Roof Systems at our Shanghai Technology Center, Shanghai, China.Overview:ArvinMeritor, Inc has an expatriate position open for an Engineering Manager, Roof Systems at their Shanghai, Technology Center location in China. This is a 2-3 year assignment and this person will manage up to 10 individuals. The Engineering Manager is responsible for the definition, acquisition and management of all engineering resources relating to program management, design (CAD), testing, manufacturing engineering, prototype development, and production maintenance. The Engineering Manager is also responsible for the definition and implementation of operating systems within the engineering organization (i.e. engineering change requests, deviation procedures, BOM management and all associated QS 9000/TS-16949 procedures and policies). The Engineering Manager provides the new product design direction and acts as the chief engineering liaison for the Shanghai and Pune Technology Centers between the other Body Systems locations.Principle Accountabilities:*Establish and maintain an engineering organizational structure that supports the requirements of external customer and internal ArvinMeritor needs with clearly defined positions and responsibilities.*Develop organizational controls that support external customer (Q1, TQE, etc.) and internal ArvinMeritor (QS 9000/TS-16949) guidelines.*Operate within corporate budgetary guidelines.*Assume responsibility for handling administrative managerial tasks including (but not limited to):-Merit planning and administration-Employee performance appraisals-Guidance/corrective actions of direct supports-Monitors and improving department efficiency-Hiring/termination recommendations*Provide integral electronic control - Custom design of ASIC *Standardize regulator interface with NGM II and PCB*Reduce costs and size/weight of steel products. *Provide employees with the tools and training necessary to do an outstanding job. *Check & approve work leaving the Engineering dept (ECRs, drawings, key documents, etc.)*Prioritize individual Project Engineer's workload.*Provide technical assistance, training, and cross training for Project Engineers.*Conduct regular project and/or internal & external design reviews.*Meet regularly with the Program Managers & Account Managers to ensure customer's needs are being met.*Drive cost reductions (VA/VEs) and quality improvements within team.*Develop advanced product ideas and encourage patent submissions from team.*Ensure QS9000 Engineering standards are met.Basic Requirements:*Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, industrial, etc.) Master's Degree preferred.*8-10 years experience in related work experience. (Preferably in Automotive Industry) *Working knowledge of major OEM customers and their Eng & CAD operations.*Product Development, Operations, Purchasing, Mechatronics and Managerial experience.*QS 9000/TS-16949 (or OE quality system) familiarity.*Problem solving and investigational skills.
