Job Description: Function: Prepare and apply Automotive and Industrial Finishes
Responsibilities: 1. Insure that all equipment and personal hygiene is in compliance with OSHA and Company safety policies (care and use of respiration and facial protection). 2. Insure that surfaces to be painted are adequately prepared for primers and topcoats (de-greasing, sanding, caulking, removal of mill scale, etc.). 3. Apply primers and topcoats to meet or exceed commercial quality finish standards. 4. Visually inspect the work completed to insure that a clean, quality product has been produced. 5. Acquire and retain knowledge of MSDS and safety procedures. 6. Follow written (work order) and verbal instructions given by supervisors. 7. Maintain painting equipment and facilities in clean, neat, and environmentally safe conditions, including appropriate disposal of solvents, empty cans, rags, and filters. 8. Operate HVLP, airless, and electrostatic painting equipment. 9. Accurately report materials and supplies expended at the completion of each phase of the job. 10. Must be able to operate all equipment assigned to the work area including, but not limited to welders, grinders, hoists, fork truck, etc. 11. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the supervisor. Must be able to perform maintenance on equipment used in the work area.
Job Requirements:
Performance Factors: 1. Ability to complete jobs in the allocated time. 2. Ability to meet or exceed all specifications (appropriate amount of primer and paint, and be without runs, sags, mars, blemishes or preparation defects.) 3. Contribution to the efficient operation of Maxey Companies, Inc. and the Assembly Department. 4. Reliability in attendance, judgment and character. 5. Adherence to all Company policies and procedures. 6. Maintain a good attitude towards the company and fellow workers.
Job Requirements: 1. Must be able to lift 80 pounds. 2. Must have ability to work as part of a team and independently. 3. Minimum of three months experience with industrial painting. 4. Must be able to paint in all positions and visually inspect completed work. 5. Must have verbal and written communications skills. 6. Must not have adverse physical reactions or allergies to any of the properties of materials and equipment used in an industrial automotive paint environment.
Dress Code: Casual dress is permitted in the shop areas. Long pants, gloves, steel-toed shoes, eye protection, and earplugs are required in the shop. Loose fitting clothing, long hair and jewelry pose a safety risk and are not acceptable dress in the shop. Employee may utilize uniform services at their own expense.
