Health & Safety Manager Job

The Consulting Services Health & Safety Manager leads the day to day management of the H&S program for consulting services. The Health & Safety Manager has excellent interpersonal and presentation skills along with facilitation skills since this position requires leading groups. This position is focused inwards on providing tools and guidance for employees and management, and managing the implementation of Corporate H&S programs. The ideal candidate will also perform site/project safety inspections, develop and review project safety plans, and act as a technical resource for safety-related project issues.

This position will report directly to the Corporate Health & Safety Manager.

Functions include, but are not limited to:

- Provide technical guidance and assistance to internal clients regarding regulatory and company compliance requirements and other matters pertaining to safety and health;

- Develop and present H&S training material (e.g. confined space entry, accident investigation, lockout tagout, work zone traffic control, etc.);

- Work with Group Managers and Project Managers to provide on-site, project-specific safety support, guidance and inspections;

- Develop and review HASPs and other safety-related deliverables;

- Manage the pre-qualification process for high-risk contractors, as outlined in the Woodard & Curran Contractor Policy

- Develop and manage safety-related templates (i.e. HASP, PPE Hazard Assessment Matrix, etc.) by service line;

- Complete client-requested H&S information for RFP submittals and annual/quarterly performance reviews;

- Develop and manage safety metrics system and progress reports;

- Site Specific office H&S plan development and management;

- Manage the accident investigation process, providing guidance to Team Leaders and ensuring completion of resulting preventative measures;

- Establish and publish annual H&S goals for Consulting Services and report these to BCM;

- Assess H&S needs and risks within Consulting Services, and make recommendations accordingly;

- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of company safety programs and policies;

- Assist in creating the systems, procedures and tools necessary to effectively implement the safety programs and policies;

- Work with all levels of the business center on matters pertaining to safety/health

- Provide leadership on the Consulting Services H&S committee and assist in addressing safety issues relating to the business center

- Participate in Consulting Operations Team

- Must have strong safety background and experience; Degree in safety science, or related certification (CSP, CIH, etc.) preferred

- Aware of federal, state and local safety laws to ensure the business center complies with all current safety regulations;

- Experience with H&S management systems, OSHA regulations and deployment of H&S programs to a complex organization, with multiple business operations at multiple offices and sites;

- Familiar with a variety of the H&S field's concepts, practices, and procedures;

- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are necessary;

- Knowledge of construction safety preferred;

- Ability to travel 25% of time.
