Hardware Engineer 90K
Waterbury Ct. area, off Metro North, low cost of living for CT, Between New Haven-Hartford County CT
Communication equipments experience is a plus. My group designs ATM/Packet based switching systems. The system currently has 9 controller and 10 different Line cards. It is an ATM centric switch but is quickly migrating to Packet based transport in the form of IP and/or
Ethernet with MPLS support. Knowledge of Ethernet and IP switching/routing is a big plus for current project. The mirco is in the Freescale Power Quik II family. Interfaces used on the system includes Serial, T1/E1, DS3/E3, OC3/12 sonet and FE/GE. The Medium to Senior Hardware Engineer will be responsible for Architecture/Design and implementation of a new controller for switch. This includes arranging for outside CAD and Mechanical help.
