Job Description:
FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER 50-60K, open ? New Haven County CT
. Travel to customer sites (Domestic or International) to install, maintain, or service instruments.
• Create and maintain instrument upgrade and maintenance schedule for assigned customers. Report on status weekly.
• Train customers in proper operation and maintenance of instruments.
• Accurately document service performed.
• Promote and sell service contracts to customer base.
• Provide service support to internal customers (R&D, Sales & Mktg. etc.) for R&D
instruments, trade show support, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in direct technical support of customers – preferably in the biomedical industry.
Education: Bachelors degree (BS preferred) or equivalent training/certification
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must have strong oral / written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills with customer satisfaction focus.
• Must be willing to travel extensively with the ability to function in an aggressive, high-energy environment.
• Must be highly proficient in electronic and mechanical troubleshooting, with the ability to decipher hardware/software/biological interface issues.
• Experience in microscopy and CCD cameras a definite plus.
• Experience and knowledge in computer networking and laboratory LIS systems.
• Understanding of FDA/ISO compliance requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May lead or mentor junior members of the service team
