The Role: Mechanical Engineer/Analyst - Mountain View You will take responsibility for the analysis and performance of multiple projects from package level to board and system level and beyond. You will satisfy all performance and reliability specifications, while optimizing for efficiency and flexibility. If you\'re interested in designing large scale computing clusters, this is the place for you. Responsibilities: Develop holistic mechanical designs from package to data center level optimizing for cost and efficiency. Create and correlate analytical models, including actual performance testing and measurement. Design and specification of thermal management hardware including materials, heat sinks, air movers, and all supporting equipment. Develop appropriate specifications and test procedures as necessary to ensure desired reliability of electronic equipment Mentor junior level engineers in design, analysis, and specification. Requirements: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is desired, with an M.S. or PhD preferred. A minimum of 8 years experience in electronics packaging or related industry with in depth familiarity of cooling strategies used at the package, board, and system-level. Experience with op/non-op shock/vibe issues related to electronics packaging. Extensive knowledge of CFD, thermal analysis techniques, and mass-flow balance modeling software. Additional consideration given for FLOTHERM experience. Extensive knowledge of structural modeling techniques, with additional consideration for Mechanical experience. Experimental experience specifically related to capturing acceleration, noise, temperature, pressure, velocity, and flow rates.
