Job Description: There is an opening for a programmer at The Canadian Press in Toronto. This is a full-time position that requires a self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision in a small team environment. The successful applicant will be working on real-time systems and system-integration projects. We are looking for someone with at least one year of programming experience.
You should be a self-starter, always willing to explore new learning opportunities and have a proven track record of delivering superior, customer friendly online applications on schedule. The ability to speak both of Canada’s official languages would be a definite asset. A university or college programming degree or diploma is required.

The software development environment includes Visual C#.NET (2003 & 2005), ASP.Net, PHP, JavaScript, C++, C, Java, XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Visual Source Safe.
