Job Description:
The Corpus Christi Police Department is committed to reaching out to the citizens it serves while providing the highest level of professionalism and services available. The department’s aim is to provide information and services necessary to reduce crime, the fear of crime and to improve the quality of life in our community. The Corpus Christi Police Department is seeking qualified individuals who can serve in this capacity. The thirty week police academy will provide you with extensive education, training, and skills you will need to excel in your role as a Corpus Christi Police Officer. Graduating officers will transition into the field during a 28 week Field Training Program. The starting base pay for a first year officer (following academy) is $42,444 to $44142. Job Requirements:
An applicant must: not currently be under indictment for any offense; not be on probation for a criminal offense; not have been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor within the last 10 years; not have ever been convicted at any time of a Class A misdemeanor or any felony offense; not ever been or currently on court-ordered community supervision or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years. Applicant must be of good moral character and the highest personal integrity. Background and character are carefully investigated before hiring.
