Job Description:
We invite you to explore an new opportunity with Holcim (US) Inc. where you can contribute significantly toward the creation and management of Holcim, Ste. Genevieve Plant limestone quarry production activities that will provide raw materials for the 4 million ton per year cement plant.
An exciting opportunity (available immediately) for an influential, driven Quarry Area Leader /Supervisor will to be located at the new plant under construction in Bloomsdale, MO. This position has a strategic focus during design, construction, and commissioning phases as well as the on-going plant operations once production begins to maximize efficiency and production. The Area Leader, Quarry will work closely with the Project Team, equipment suppliers and plant staff to ensure the quarry mobile equipment fleet is procured, delivered, commissioned and set up per standards and specifications developed while performing a key role as a resource in the selection, hiring and orientation of new hires for the quarry team. Successfully deliver training, provide coaching and daily management of production/operations and mechanical maintenance activities in the quarry.
As a visible leader and unwavering support for Safety, Health and Environmental principles at the plant, this area leader will lead a team of multi-skilled team members to safely operate and maintain a 6 million ton per year limestone quarry providing raw materials for the 4 million ton per year cement plant. Utilizing your experience in mine planning and execution (including haul road construction and opening new benches/cuts) and work with the Mine Engineer, Area Manager and other Area Leaders to lead operations of the quarry to lower costs, accomplish short and long term mining plans, production goals, waste removal goals, and drilling goals. Also monitor outsourced mobile equipment maintenance contractor and lead improvements in operations and equipment reliability through application of predictive maintenance and root cause failure analysis.
Job Requirements:
As an experienced supervisor in a quarry, with a minimum of three (3) years quarry/mining experience (surface mining of limestone preferred), this leader will also be experienced with computerized quarry mine planning/modeling software and mobile equipment maintenance. Excellent safety, quality orientation and communication skills with flexibility to work shift and weekends as plant operations require will drive success.
