Job Description:

This well-respected non-profit organization has an immediate opening for a professional and seasoned Associate Major Gifts Officer who is dynamic, committed, and eager to accept the challenge of building financial support. The Associate Major Gifts Officer works closely with the Chief Development Officer, a small marketing team, and a Board of Directors to achieve the fundraising goals of the organization. The Associate Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for donor cultivation, fundraising, communications, prospect research and tracking. Structure effective and well –conceived gift arrangements; follow through in a timely and effective manner with prospective donors and their advisors to successfully close gift discussions. Engage potential donors in ways that encourage their substantial philanthropic investment. Prepare proposals and cultivation solicitation materials. Maintain a personal portfolio of higher level capacity donors (cultivate, solicit, and steward) 20% coordinating, convention activities.



Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 5 + years related recent donor development experience.
Solid track record in closing major gifts solicitations in non-profit role.
Self-starter with internal sense of direction – results oriented.
Demonstrated high ethical standards of behavior, sound judgment, thoughtfulness, respect for confidential personal information, and attention to detail necessary to creating and administering complex gift s arrangements .
Strong team building and team work experience Proven track record in fundraising, specifically with Major Gifts of $5,000.00 + and the use o planned giving vehicles.
Strong interpersonal skills; good listening skills; poise and present-ability when communication with individuals and groups.
Strong business writing skills and oral communication skills, demonstrating an ability to make the case for philanthropy and for Shade Tree with clarity and cogency required.
