Job Description:
Established custom women’s clothing retailer/manufacturer in Long Island City is currently seeking someone part-time to assist in the design studio with a wide variety of tasks which include, but are not limited to:
- Quality control
- Organizing the shipping of garments for wholesale accounts
- Running errands; picking up and dropping-off items from Manhattan (fabric, trim, garments)
- Maintaining fabric inventory
- Receiving packages, updating shipping log, following up on outstanding purchase orders
You will have the opportunity to gain experience working in a fast-growing apparel company and see many facets of the fashion industry.
Job Requirements:
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
- Work well in a fast-paced environment
- Prior fashion experience, especially in quality control
- Strong understanding of very high apparel quality standards
- Basic knowledge of how to ship via Fed Ex, UPS, etc
- Office skills: answering phones, filing, basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Can-do attitude, enthusiasm
