Job Description: Position is a team-oriented Billing Specialist with a commitment to client service. This person will act as the liaison between billing attorneys and the accounting department. Responsibilities include:
preparing and processing of client bills
performing bill reconciliations
providing financial reports and information to billing attorneys
performing special projects as requested by the billing attorney
researching of accounting records to reconcile billing
updating and maintaining client billing records in the accounting system
creating invoices in draft; editing and preparing invoices in final format for clients using Rainmaker Accounting system
reviewing billing pre-bills for accuracy before forwarding them to attorneys
preparing "write-off" authorization forms and implement write-offs/transfers as directed
Job Requirements:
The ideal applicant must have strong organizational, communication skills, be detail and deadline oriented, quality service first time every time to our clients, both internal and external.
A high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years progressive billing experience preferably in a legal professional services firm; or equivalent combination of education and experience is also required.
Must have working knowledge of Rainmaker. Computer proficiency with experience and working knowledge of Excel, Outlook and MS Word preferred. Analytical skills requiring an aptitude for detail and accuracy in order to analyze and prepare billing, work with multiple systems/reports on a daily basis, and ensure work is completed within defined deadlines. Must have experience with electronic billing, and must be a dependable team player with the ability to act independently and make decisions within scope of the position's responsibilities. Applicants should be proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills, and should have the outstanding interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures is a must!
