Job Description:
BluWâv Systems, a technology company focusing on the commercialization of vehicle hybrid-electric propulsion systems, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer at its Rochester Hills, Michigan facility. The position will be responsible for the design and packaging of integrated electric machine-based propulsion systems and related components.
Responsibilities include:
• Design and package of electric machines and related components, test fixtures, and development equipment as well as electronics and energy storage systems
• Generate system, subsystem, and component geometry / package space through the use of legacy and detail drawings
• Create detailed drawings of systems and components for prototype and production manufacturing
• Apply BluWâv Systems drafting standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, design guidelines, and release system to designs
• Read/interpret blueprints and design for assembly, manufacturing, and service
• Convert incoming data or outgoing data from/to a variety of different formats as specified by customer and vendor CAD systems.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Minimum Years of CAD and Design Experience: 3 years
• Preferred Education Level: BS, BET
• Desired Degree: Computer Graphics, Mechanical, Engineering Technology
• Experience Required: 3D modeling, 2D drawing, GD&T, Reverse Engineering, modern CAD practices
• Strong computer skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with SolidWorks highly desired
• Understanding of chassis components, subsystem, system functions and how they are tested, manufactured, assembled, and serviced is highly desired
• Experience in vehicle component packaging desired
