Job Description:
* Under general supervision, provides technical advice and guidance in geological exploration, testing, and analysis at assigned site.
* Collects, reviews, interprets, and processes geological samples and data according to procedures.
* Reports geological exploration issues and makes recommendations to Senior Geologists for correction.
* Focus on geologic and geotechnical core logging and drilling support
* Prepares and updates maps of deposits and other records of mineral resources.
* Coordinates underground geologic mapping
* Core loggins as necessary
* Coordinate exploration drilling programs
* Production Geologist, general geology duties with focus on underground mapping of production levels, dilution and grade control sampling.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors degree in Geology or closely related area.
* Three (3) years experience in an area or areas relevant to the assignment.
* Knowledge of the principles and methods used in complex geological analyses.
* Good mineral identification and estimation skills.
* Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to collaborate with other geologists and representatives of associated departments in a team environment.
* Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Knowledge and experience with porphyry molybdenum deposits and a demonstrated understanding of supergene processes
* Knowledge of core drilling techniques for grade definition and geotechnical data.
* Knowledge of geostatistical ore reserve estimation techniques
* Understanding of sampling and assaying techniques.
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
* Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office products.
