Job Description:
The incumbent will support all facets of resource evaluation, including data management, geological interpretation and modeling, and grade estimation.

Additional Responsibilities:
1. Integrates and interprets all geological and mineralogical data into internally consistent surface geology maps, cross sections, and level plans.
2. Works with a team of geologists in the completion of geological block models that meet corporate modeling standards.
3. Performs statistical and geostatistical evaluations of drill-hole data and performs grade interpolation using various geostatistical techniques.
4. Prepares, updates and manages drill hole databases for resource models.
5. Develops coding methodology, including relogging if necessary, and manages the entry of geological (rock type, alteration, structure, ore types), assay, and mineralogical data into database.
6. Routinely validates databases for accuracy.
7. Works with and provides support to the Resource Audit Team in their audits of resource models.
8. Prepares PowerPoint presentations and figures as needed by management.
9. Performs logging or relogging of core and reverse circulation cuttings.
10. Performs other duties as required.



Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a Master's in Geology or closely related area.
• Five (5) years experience in an area or areas relevant to the assignment.
• Knowledge of the principles and methods used in complex geological analyses.
• Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
• Knowledge and experience in geostatistical methods for grade estimation.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Knowledge and experience in managing computerized databases.
• Knowledge and experience in using resource modeling software for interpretation of geological and mineralogical features and grade interpolation for resource block models.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Work periodically will be in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may
• include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
• Work periodically will be in remote field conditions with a wide range of physical conditions and require interaction with diverse cultures and societies.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 60 pounds) during the course of the workday.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
